Vaisnodevi :
Seven hundred years ago, the devotee Sridhar, being instructed in a dream, discovered the shrine of Goddess in a cave at the hill top, 2112 m above sea level, 62 km away from Jammu. The Goddess here, according to the Devi Purana is Vaisnodevi, the presiding deity of creation, preservation and destruction of the world.
How To Reach: From Katra to Vaisnodevi shrine is 14 km. The distance can be covered by horse, dandi, candi or on foot. Though not inaccessible the passage is full of slopes and steeps. After getting down from bus one has to walk 2 km on plains, then ascends 9 km to reach Sanjichat (2800 m). Again moves 2 km 0on plains and then further ascends 1 km to enter the shrine of Vaisnodevi.
Patnitop :
Surrounded by mountains and shaded by the trees of Deodar and pine, lies the peaceful beauty of Patnitop(2024 m). During winter snowfalls makes the place enthralling.
How To Reach: Along Jammu- Srinagar NH 1A buses are plying from Jammu.
