8 NIGHTS AND 9 DAYS
Over View: Ladakh
is a high altitude mountainous region bounded by the Karakoram Range from the
north and the Great Himalayans in the South. It is a land that abounds in
awesome physical features set in an enormous and spectacular environment. Often
described as ‘Moonland’ because of the unique lunar landscape, Ladakh was an
independent kingdom for close to a millennium. Leh, the royal capital, was a
major crossroads of Asia and a stopping point on the ancient migration routes
of the trans-Himalayans, connecting Central Asia with the Indian Subcontinent.
Its landscape, sky, shooting stars, silence, wizened faces, rosy cheeks,
dragons and Zen. Everything makes Ladakh a place like no other in this world
and a worth a visit once in a life time.
This ethereal cold desert that goes by names such as ‘The Last Shangrila’,
Moonscape, Little Tibet and so many others.. All of which ring true, is a land
that seldom fails to baffle or surprise.
Ladakh, the land of jagged peaks and barren landscape is alluring and
awe-inspiring.

Day 1 Leh here we come, 3505 meters / 11567 feet.
At last we reach Leh, the wait is finally over.. Arrival at Kushok Bakuhok airport at Leh –
3500 meters above sea level. Transfer to Hotel. Breakfast at the hotel before
9:30 am. Half Day at rest for acclimatization. Lunch at the hotel. After lunch
drive to Visit Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace, Later in the evening walk around
local market. Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel in Leh.

Day 2: Tour of
Hemis, Thiksey Shey Monastery 3 Idots School Campus Sindhu Darshan
After a leisurely breakfast, we drive to visit Hemis
Monastery situated 45km west of Leh; Hemis is the largest and wealthiest
monastery in Ladakh. From Hemis, you are driven back taking the same route to
visit Thiksey Monastery, located on a hillock with formidable views of Indus
valley. Thiksey is especially noteworthy for its gigantic seated statue of the
Maitreya and is also know for its (Drukhang) assembly hall which houses
hundreds of rectangular prayer books, stacked between wooden covers and bound
in silk. After that we continue to drive through series of chortens to visit
Shey Palace the former summer palace of the King of Ladakh. 3 Idots School
Campus Sindhu Darshan visit.
Dinner and Overnight
Stay at Hotel in Leh. BF/PKDL/D
Day 3: Tour of KhardungLa Pass 18832 feet. Nubra Valley and Hundur Sand
Dunes.
Driver 120 Kms 4 to 5 hours Khardungla is the World’s
highest motorable road at 188832 feet above sea level. At KhardungLa pass the
snow capped peaks and the mountain view are amazing. The road then pases
throught a bridge laid on Glacier which finds its way in Guinness Book of World
Records, Drive through the Valley which is exteremely beautiful for
photography. Nubra Valley is the Oasis of Ladakh as you see some colourful
trees in this region. Later reach your camp visit the Sand Dunes if Lucky you
will get the sight of Two Hump Bacterian Camels, enjoy time at the Sand Dunes
of Nubra Valley spread across Hundur Village.

Day 4: After Breafast proceed to Diskit Monastery with is 515 year
old.
Situated on a hill top giving panoramic view of the valley
later walk around the town of Diskit which has a small village market. Giant
Budha Statue. Proceeed for the tour of Samsthaling, Panamik, Yaraptso Lake
along with the splendid view of the Karakoram Himalayan Rage.. Samsthaling is
situated on the mount side just above Sumur. This was the route taken by the
trade caravans, and Panamik, the last village on this circuit, was at that time
a busy centre, the last major settlement before the caravans proceed back to
Leh cross the Khardungla pass once again and reach Leh.

Day 5: Tour of Pangong Lake
It is the highest land locked lake (155 Kms One way from Leh
5 hour drive each way). After an early breakfast we leave for Pangong Lake
through Changla Pass 5486 meters. Pangong Lake, situated at 14,000 feet (4,267
meters). A long narrow basin of inland drainage, hardly six to seven kilometre
at its Widest point and over 130 km long, it is bisected by the interenational
border between India and China. A few years back the government decided to open
it to tourists though the lake and its surrounding is under army surveillance.
Enjoy the landscape in the backdrop on the Lake. One rarely feels so close to
nature and environment and scenery is unforgettable.
Day 6: Drive back to Leh, evening is free for market.

Day 7: Alchi Uleytokpo, Basgo Palace, Likir Monastery, Magnetic
Hill – Alchi Ule (4 hours)
After breakfast drive to Indus River, Rafting for 4 to 5 hours (Optional cost) and sightseeing
points Basgo Palace, Liker Monastery, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill,
Visit Alchi Monastery and evening free at the camp.
Day 8: Moonland Lamayuru – Leh.
Sightseeing tour of Moonlandscape, visit Lamayur on the way back
visit Lokir Monastary the splendid three storeys Dharma Wheel Gompa. Here you’ll
be awestruck with the sight of the massive Buddha Statues, Indus and Zanskar
river Sangam, drive along the Indus river and back to Leh
check into your hotel in Leh Overnight in Leh. BF/PKDL/D
Day 9: Depart Leh..
After breakfast, transfer to airport..
